Currently craving: Volume 1

In an effort to get this blog, and me, back on track I present you with my "currently craving" wishlist.

1. Illamasqua Rich Liquid Foundation in shade 115
This foundation's coverage looks delicious in photos, although I believe it is hard to blend and work with at times, I just adore a doll like complexion.  It also helps that Illamasqua are one of the few brands who actually stock both pale and darker shades, they even do a white one, which would be perfect for mixing as well as creative looks.  As someone who is extremely pale, I am constantly searching for that perfect shade of foundation and this is one I definitely need to try out.

2. Mac Pigment in shade Violet
This colour reminds me of magic and unicorns, or magical unicorns, either way this looks like a beautiful shade. Purple isn't a colour I often use in my makeup routine, but after seeing celebrities such as Scarlett Johansson and Kylie, I'm starting to wonder if I can make it work!

3. Topshop Cream Blush in shade Head Over Heels
I must admit that despite hearing wonderful things about Topshop's range of cosmetics, I have only used one of their lipsticks (which turned out to be a nude which did not flatter my skintone at all, my bad decision and not the poor lipstick's fault) but their range of cream blushers look fantastic, I'm actually torn between this shade and flush, I suppose I should really swatch them in person to decide but sadly my local Topshop closed down and..I'm lazy.

Links to where you can buy these items are in their titles if you also feel the need to have these in your life. :)

Post-Christmas blues already :(

Yes Christmas has been and gone, and already i have the blues.  Boxing Day usually means working with retail madness but my current job is closed so thats something!

Anyway, yesterday was a pretty awesome Christmas for me, i hope it was for you too! My main gift, from the hubby, is actually what i'm using right now.. IPAD MINI woooop wooop! :D:D:D

I also got Swarovski earrings, a steiff teddy, a lovely onesie, a kardashian bracelet, two beautiful dresses, lovely slippers - and actually maybe a photo of everything will be easier :P

Here's me in my onesie, complete with my beautiful doggy <3 This onesie is soooo warm i love it :D

The hubby & I, yes he always looks miserabke in photos, he assures me he was actually smiling haha! This is also one of the dresses from my parents, chosen by my dad! & Chris's clothes were also from them, although i chose the jumper :D You can also see my bracelet a little there too :)

& lastly here is our magnificent turkey dinner :D Yes it was as tastey as it looks, I dont think i'll be weighing myself any time soon though, i still feel stuffed!!

Unfortunately its back to reality with work tomorrow, and the sale will begin, however I'm going shopping myself once i finish, so we'll see if i find anything worthwhile that might be left :) I did make a fairly large online order from River Island's sale so I'll be sure to update about that when it all arrives :D

So, tata for now :D

Merry Christmas everyone! :D

Firstly I need to apologise for the lack of activity recently, without getting into it (because today is not the day for moaning!) I've just not been feeling like writing about anything as I haven't really had anything interesting to say anyway :/

Anyway, now that's out of the way MERRY CHRIIIIIISTMAS :D :D

I hope you are all having a fantastic day, I'm going to post tomorrow in more detail but why I really wanted to write this entry today is to say a huuuuuuuuuuuuge thank you to a very special, and unknown, blogger out there who I hope will read this :D

As some of you may know, a secret Santa is held for bloggers who want to take part and I really love them so I couldn't wait to join in :D anyway, obviously I do not know who my amazing secret Santa is, but I need to say that I am truly touched and so grateful! They are so, so ME! Whoever you are, you have completely understood what I love and have bought me a gift which I will forever appreciate and love.  From the bottom of my heart, thank you so so much!!!

And here are the amazingly awesome gifts in all their glory :D

Thank you again mystery blogger, whoever and wherever you are, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a fantastic new year.  You have made me so happy and I will always remember this :D

Merry Christmas to you all!!!!!! & I promise to post more tomorrow ;)

It's finally December, yay!

I can't believe today is the first of December already! Advent calendars at the ready, I actually have two like the greedy moo I am, and may the Christmas films begin! I did actually start watching the TV ones weeks ago but now I can pull out the DVDs and enjoy them "properly", in fact I started today with Arthur Christmas & currently Nativity 2 which I didn't even know existed but gosh it has David Tennant in, swooooon. (on a related note, who watched the Doctor Who anniversary special last week? Oh I cried buckets with joy at seeing him as the Doctor again.)

Anyway a quick step backwards in time to last Sunday & guess who I saw in Manchester? Oh yes, 30 SECONDS TO MARS!!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!

Oh gosh they were amazing, and Jared Leto is actually quite possibly the hottest guy in the world, apart from my hubby of course. ;)

I would like to just add that the last two photos aren't actually mine, and were found via the wonders of google as they are clearly superior to any photos I managed to take of him due to me stupidly forgetting to take my actual camera.  Well in fact I didn't forget, I packed the case, got to the hotel in Manchester and opened it to check my battery.. and the camera wasn't in it.  Devastated doesn't even cover it, so then all I had was my phone which does have a decent camera, but not for these conditions obviously. :( The videos I took were pretty good however. Anyway, thankyou to whoever took these photos and if they are yours please let me know and I shall credit your fantastic photography skills <3 I am also incredibly jealous about how close you were to him haha ;)

Their support act "You Me At Six" were also very good actually, I especially loved their demand for a circle pit haha, I don't know why but it just really amused me!

Here's me and the mister awaiting their performance, he looks incredibly drunk there but I swear he wasn't lol! & I am much more excited than I actually look, that I can definitely promise you :P

& here I am the morning after, saddened that it's over, but loving my t-shirt souvenier <3

Also the Macdonald Townhouse hotel in Manchester is truly lovely and I do recommend it, it's a bit farther from the MEN Arena, oh no wait, the "Phones 4 u Arena" (......) than I possibly would have liked but it's not far from the centre itself and the room was much larger than I expected! It was also perfect distance from Burger King for a midnight feast, lovely.

We also passed this guy late at night in the centre of Manchester near the arndale, scared the crap out of me.  A festive Predator, just what every Christmas needs?

Now back to the Christmassyness.  Did everyone open their first door on their advent calendars then?

For those who don't want to see what's inside door number one, please look away now.....

I said look away if you don't want to know.. Are you sure? Alright then!

TA DA!

Yay a mini Soap and Glory clean girls bodywash! It's so cute and smells divine! I can't wait until tomorrow's, and number eight actually as the door is massive haha!

Ooh also yesterday I bought the Sensationail Deluxe Starter Kit from Boots, it's the current star gift and is currently £45 down from a whopping £105, woah.

I absolutely love it, I couldn't wait to try it out last night and whilst it did take me a little while at first to get the hang of it, it isn't actually that tricky and I'm pretty sure I'll be able to do it a lot quicker and neater next time.

Here's my first attempt using the colour "Sugar Plum", it's really pretty and shiny, and I've in fact bought some of the infamous "BlueSky" shades from good old ebay for a fiver each, they'll be a bargain if they will work with the Sensationail lamp, which apparently they should according to a lot of blogs, so I'll be sure to post some pictures once I've tried them, I bought some lovely glittery ones for Christmas ;) I just hope this removes easier than my acrylics did..  It's supposed to last 2 weeks on as well, which I'm not sure mine will due to my hands suffering a lot during work but we shall see!

There and back again

Sorry for the lack of updates yet again, I just keep doing this don't I?

Unfortunately it wasn't really due to neglect this time, well not just that anyway, I've had a pretty stressful few weeks so I've not really felt any inspiration for what to post recently & I really didn't want to fill lots of posts with pointless negativity and depressed-ness.  Yes that's now a word apparently.  It's nothing serious really, just work and hospital appointments getting me down, and that sounds much more dramatic than it is! Just research into the extent of my PCOS and how it will affect me etc. Again, not very interesting I'm afraid!

The rainbow over the horizon for me though is that I'm going to see 30 Seconds to Mars on Sunday in Manchester, very excited! oh and I'm putting up our christmas tree the day after that yaaay, after another blood test at the hospital.. not so yaay.

Right I'm going to leave that there for for now, I apologise profusely for the negativity of this post, as I said it's exactly what I didn't want to do, but I also didn't want to leave any readers I might have thinking I've vanished off the planet and abandoned my blog, I haven't and I fully intend to post again properly soon, I just want to have better things to talk about.  I'm expecting some parcels in fact tomorrow, including an extra special treat that I bought myself, and I have bought some new makeups recently which I just haven't managed to try out yet so I'll try and get those up here soon too.

In the words of Arnie, I'll be back!

Back to black.. well, brown actually, but that would make an odd song title.

Oops! Sorry again for that disappearing act! It's been a crazy week!

I had my hair done as I said I was going to in my last entry, in the end I decided to go back to dark brown which is apparently a combination of mocha and ash, so hopefully not too red!

Yes I realise this is a terrible picture but the only other one I've taken since my change of hair is of me in a onesie.. and you're just not seeing that haha ;)

Then on Hallowe'en (hope you all had a good/scary one!) after work the other half and I went to see Wicked the musical in Manchester! AMAZING show! That girl who plays Elphaba, the wicked witch, has an incredible set of pipes on her, wow!! Oddly the two people who were sitting in front of us got up after the end of the first half and never came back, very strange! I have been waiting to see the show for years so when I heard it was going on tour I just had to go, and Hallowe'en seemed as good a time as any for a witchy-tastic show ;)

Tonight I was actually meant to be at a Hallowe'en party too but sadly the weather has put a stop to that, I didn't fancy being out in the thunder and lightening in a Snow White costume haha :( I might just dress up as her tomorrow for the sake of it.. I was looking forward to being a Disney Princess :(
Speaking of which, I actually found a company that hires people to dress as Disney Princesses for children's parties and meet and greets and they were recruiting a Snow White, so I applied but they required "Proffesional acting experience"! pfffft so disappointed, I could have done it... XD

Other than that it's been crazy busy at work, so I've just been too tired to do much of anything else :(

Tomorrow's meant to be a bonfire and fireworks display, I do hope the weather doesn't spoil that one too as that's actually outside as well! Stupid rain :(

Well there you have it, a quick update and I know it wasn't very interesting, but I'll try to make the next one a bit better, I did actually do a spot of shopping today (and the other day in which I bought my favourite tartan Primark dress in two more colours haha!) but didn't get anything apart from the previously mentioned onesie (in an age 13 haha! cheaper and not as long!) and got a new bra fitting since losing weight, turns out I've lost two bra sizes :( I know that's a good thing as it's because I've lost weight, but d'awww ma boobs are goneded! so the very nice ann summers lady found me some super boob-boosting bras to replace the lost boobsticles haha! They have some really nice lingerie in there, especially for Christmas, go check them out!

Anyway, as the X-factor will soon be on (sad I know) I shall say cheerio for now and will hopefully have more interesting things to say next time :P

What a hair raising story

Oo what a terrible title haha!

I am having a hair colour issue though none the less, you see.. I've had a lot of different hair colours over the last few years, let's take a little walk down memory lane shall we..

Yes shameless Robert Pattinson photo in there.  This is however the only photo I can find of my natural hair colour, even if I look horrible lol! It's a terribly fuzzy photo too so who knows what shade of brown it really is? I certainly don't anymore!

Hair dye used: Garnier Herbashine Red Mahogany

Then this was my first attempt at colouring my hair, after years of craving red hair I went for it using a crappy semi permenant hair dye but it faded so quickly that this is the only photo I have of it.  It was also really patchy and badly applied but I did love the colour!

Hair dye used: Garnier Herbashine Dark Brown, then L'oreal Casting Dark brown (not sure what it was called exactly)

Then for a long time I had very dark brown hair, at some stages it looked almost black. Not the greatest photo I know.

Hair dye used: Salon bleached then maintained with L'oreal Preference Lightest Ash Blonde

Then I suddenly decided I wanted to be a blonde! I did really like this colour although most other people didn't think it suited me, it was a pain to maintain though as soon as the roots came through and went brassy really fast :( I was impressed with how light I got it though considering how dark it was before!

Hair dye used: L'oreal Sublime Mousse Copper

Warning: Horrible photo ahoy!!! Dear god look at those brows LMAO! This is however the only photo I think that exists of my ginger locks.. They actually looked really nice in person, but apparently this didn't translate to photography =P

The gingeryness then faded to this colour, which was like a pretty honey/golden blonde.. But the roots came in a creeping still and the ginger wouldn't cover it, back to brown it was..

Hair dye used: John Frieda Bronze

Again, not a great photo but I really didn't keep it this colour for long.  I remember I had it for Hallowe'en (hence the outfit :P) it was a lighter brown than it looks with a hint of gold to it, possibly from the ginger underneath than anything, it was a nice colour, but I still wasn't happy..

Hair dye used: Salon colour, can't remember the shade

This was the colour I opted for over Christmas, a very dark brown again which I had done at a salon (yes I didn't do it myself for once!) but it started to go really red, even though I had wanted a brown without red undertones, it clearly had them :( Or maybe it was the red from before, I don't know, either way it was very red shortly after this so I put an ash brown dye over the top in an attempt to try and get it kind of cooler and more similar to what I think my natural hair colour is

Hair dye used: Salon

This was what I then had for months! Longer than all the other hair colours.  I was trying to grow all the dye out and get back to my natural colour, and I had the blonde ombre effect applied, I really really loved this. It was a subtle colour effect really but I really enjoyed it!  As my hair grew though and I was having the ends trimmed, the blonde started to disappear of course and I was reluctant to bleach my hair again as it was, and still is, in really bad condition.  The ends are very damaged and frizzy, even after trims, and all the hair feels so dry and icky. Not good.

Hair dye used: L'oreal Preference Wild Ombre Copper

Please forgive the startled expresion! I have no idea why haha!  This is how my hair currently looks.  I wanted an autumny look so I.. put copper over the blonde.  I actually do love it, but this leads me to my current problem.  It's not taking to the bleach properly at all.  Patches of blonde have already come through mere days after application, the ends look even frizzier and more damaged, and some other patches are going such a pale orange that it looks apricoty, basically it's starting to turn into a mess and me being me, it's just not good enough!

Soooo a long story cut short, just like my hair :P, what colour shall I go? Should I keep it as it is (even though it's a mess) or have a change? I was thinking of just going back to brown, but what shade? I have no idea what colour of brown my real hair is, I mean the roots are my natural colour, but it's all so mixed and blended that I have no idea what to call it.  Do I go darker again? Chocolate? Ash? I just don't knooow :(

I've booked a hair appointment in case I decide not to do it myself this time, but I don't always have that much faith in salon colours to be honest, more than once I've spent a fortune to leave with something that wasn't right, and I know you can complain but.. I'm British, we complain to all the wrong people and not when it counts :P

Problems problems!

Oh why can I never just be happy eh? ;)
